Hello Webi fans!
By now you've probably attended either the SAP Business Objects 2010 user conference presentation or ASUG Webinar on dashboarding with Web Intelligence. In this article we take you through the technical details of implementing jQuery Sparklines for use within Web Intelligence to help you create stunning and visually rich graph content in your online dashboards.
Here are some prequisites to follow prior to download these samples:
Here's a basic inventory of items you'll want to download:
Now, you will need to follow some basic steps:
Log onto your SAP Business Objects application server where the web content is hosted
Navigate to your "cdz_adv" folder, or, for Tomcat, $BOBJ_HOME$\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\viewers\cdz_adv
Backup your existing viewReport.jsp file and copy the above downloaded version to this path only if you are using BOEXI31.SP2. If not, that's still OK, you will simply want to merge your viewReport.jsp with the downloadable one above and copy the sections marked with "START WEBI DASHBOARDING" and "END WEBI DASHBOARDING" to your viewReport.jsp
Unzip the contents of the dashboarding.zip file to the cdz_adv directory so that a new folder called "dashboarding" exists at the same level as the folders "extension", "language", etc
Unzip the contents (images) of the images.zip file to the cdz_adv root (so that the image files are at the same level as "viewReport.jsp"
Now, upload the efashion webi files (efashion_live and efashion_2010) to your Business Objects repository (CMS)
Restart your application server (in this case, Tomcat)
Run the efashion report through Infoview and you should now see:
Hi, great presentation...some errors after following your instructions:
1) Only the Tooltip works. The efashion report shows Loading... for any sparklines and a series of comma delimited values for bullets.
2) Image Gallery does not show.
3) Can you provide the dashboardactions.jsp file? Currently it will throw a 404 error from the Dashboard Report tab.
I have BOBJ XI3.1 SP3 and copied the dashboarding directory to the cdz_adv folder. Used the provided ViewReport.jsp file.
Hi -
Thanks for attending!
We just posted a newer viewReport.jsp. Please download this version instead.
Also, we will be uploading the actual Webi report template used in the presentation.

Good presentation, you didn't go into detail on how you filtered from one tab to the next. Could you do a write up on this?
Hi Nick -
The tab-switch/tab-filter mechanism is still undergoing some refinement and modification to make it "community friendly" in the next couple of weeks after which time we'll post some additional material to either this entry or a new one.
Thanks again for attending!

We are using the latest version of the viewReport.jsp and are still seeing "Loading..." for the sparklines. Any way to resolve this?
The jquery extension is really cool and out of the box thinking. Great Job Atul. Do you still have the recorded presentation from ASUG related to this?
