CMS/Connect doesn't require a server-side installation when installed in Standalone mode for a user to perform query and analysis on their SAP Business Objects Enterprise CMS.  To learn more about Standalone mode, see the Prerequisites section.

Step 1: Obtaining the CMS/Connect Media

Trial Media can be downloaded from the following link.  To obtain CMS/Connect media for purchase, please contact sales@infolytik.com.

Step 3: Configure the Connection to your CMS

CMS/Connect requires a valid Enterprise User account through the query drivers will access the CMS.

In order to configure the connection, browse to the following path:

$BOBJ_HOME$\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\infolytik\config

Open the file cmsconnect.properties and change the following lines to reflect your installation: (*Note: CMS/Connect only allows Enterprise auth in the current release)

cmsserver=enter_cms_name_here:6400
cmsusername=Administrator
cmspassword=enter_password_here
cmsauthtype=secEnterprise

It is important to understand that CMS/Connect works best when using either an Administrator account or a user within the CMS Administrator's group !!
Once finished, save and close the file

Step 4: Move the CMS Connect Universe to your Universes Directory

In order to start using CMS/Connect, you must place the CMS Connect universe in the location where your Web Intelligence Rich Client "looks" for Universes.

Browse to the following file location:

$BOBJ_HOME$\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\infolytik\universe

Copy the file "CMS Connect.unv" to your Universes folder.  If you're unsure as to where this folder resides, you may start Universe Designer and open the CMS Connect.unv file and navigate to "Save As" and simply save it to wherever it asks to save - that is your default Universe folder.

Step 4: Confirm CMS/Connect is installed correctly

       Start Web Intelligence Rich Client from the Start Menu

       Observe that results similar to the ones shown below appear in your report - and that confirms a completely successful installation!
