Command Center

The Command Center dashboard is the landing page of Power BI Usage: tenant inventory, refresh health and the shape of activity for the selected range on one screen.

Open it

Open /web/pbiusage/ (see Enable the Dashboards). Command Center is the default page; to return to it choose Select Analysis > Command Center.

Common controls

These controls work the same on every Power BI Usage dashboard except Capacity, which has its own period selector.

Control What it does
Select Analysis Menu of the dashboards: Command Center, User Activity, System Load, Content Health, Semantic Models, Datasources, Governance, Users & Licenses, Executive, Capacity Metrics.
Range From and to dates (UTC), or a preset: 48h, 7d, 14d, 30d. Default: the last 7 days. At most 92 days.
Environments One check box per Power BI environment. All are included by default.
Capacities Drop-down labelled Capacities: All. Pick capacities per environment (name, SKU and workspace count), plus two special buckets: (No capacity) for shared-capacity workspaces and (Unattributed events) for activity with no workspace link.
LIVE Age of the newest activity event. See Data Freshness.

Your choices are kept in the page address, so a bookmark or a shared link reopens the same view.

Drill down and export

Most numbers, bars and table cells are clickable. A click opens a drawer on the right with the rows behind the number.

In the drawer What it does
Breadcrumb (Drill path) Each further click adds a level; click an earlier level to go back. Close or ++escape++ closes the drawer.
Find in drawer Highlights matches; Previous match, Next match, Clear find.
Column headers Click to sort.
Download "Download all rows behind this drawer as CSV for Excel": every row, not only the rows shown, up to 50,000 rows (web.apps.pbiusage.export.max.rows).
Open links "Open in the Power BI portal" opens the item in the Power BI service (web.apps.pbiusage.portal.base, default https://app.powerbi.com).

The drawer lists the first 200 rows and says "Showing the first 200 rows (server limit); narrow the scope to see the rest." Use Download for the full list.

Questions this page answers

  • How big is the tenant, and how much of the report estate was viewed in the period?
  • Are refreshes healthy overall?
  • Which operations and workspaces drive the activity, and on which days?
  • How are workspaces spread across Fabric, Premium Per User, trial and shared capacity?
